Langtang Region Trekking offers a wide range of adventures from moderate-adventurous to challenging, a beautiful and fascinating destination where you will be surrounded by the high mountains of Central Himalaya. Langtang Region is situated north of Kathmandu. The area extends from 32 km north of Kathmandu (aeronautical mile) to the Nepal and Tibet (China) border at Kyirong and Rasuwagadi. Located within Langtang National Park extends to the Ganesh Himal area in the west Helambu area and Jugal Himal towards the east.
A perfect holiday from a few days of trekking to a week or more of 2 weeks, Langtang is at present the third most popular trekking and adventure destination after Annapurna and Everest. Langtang covers a wide range of spectacular landscapes from rolling green hills and beautiful valleys to high snowcapped mountains with enchanting forests of rhododendron-pines-oaks-spruce-hemlock and fir with magnolia tree lines. This lovely forest makes good habitats for rare Red Panda, snow leopards, and other wildlife and various species of exotic birds.
Most of the trek and adventure starts from Syabrubesi village and Dhunche town (headquarters of Rasuwa district) leading to Langtang Valley at Kyanjin Gompa with incredible views of
Ghengu-Liru (Langtang II 6571m / 21,560ft), Langtang Lirung (7,425m / 23,765ft) Kimshun (6,745m / 22,137ft), and Shalbachum (6,918m / 22,699ft) to the south, where Chimsedang Lekh forms a ridge of peaks including Naya-Kanga / Ganja-la peak 5,846m and Gangchempo with Tilman's beautiful Fluted Peak. Beyond it continues to Jugal Himal, ending with Dorje Lakpa (6,980m / 22,929ft), which extends further east on upper meadows where the Langtang range ends in a massive mountain wall, forming the border with Tibet.
Around Langtang region everlasting panorama and views of high staggering mountains from Mt. Manaslu 8,163 meters, Ganesh Himal also known as Yangra at 7,422 meters in Tibetan with distant views of the Annapurna Himalayan range can be seen in the western direction. In spring and summer flowering times where rhododendrons and other wildflowers will bloom in riots of colors turning the country into a magical and natural garden in the backdrop of high snow-capped peaks.
