Annapurna Circuit Trekking Overviews

Annapurna Circuit Trekking is by far the best trekking route in the north-western Himalayas of Nepal. Annapurna region of north-western Nepal is the most versatile trekking region in Nepal, and popularity-wise second only to the Everest region. The region is often described as the land of contrasts as it includes the country’s windiest, driest, and wettest places. The Annapurna circuit trekking route was open to trekkers only in 1977 AD, its beauty and wilderness are still preserved and intact in the purest form. The Annapurna circuit trekking experience will feel like a journey into the past, as time has stood still for centuries in the remote Himalayan regions of Nepal. The three-week-long Annapurna circuit Trek begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Pokhara is a famous tourist destination in its own right. As we commence our trek from Dharapani, we will pass through several beautiful villages on high hills that have successfully retained their culture and heritage amidst fleeting modernity. Throughout the trek, we will have splendid views of magnificent Himalayan ranges like Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Dhaulagiri, and Mt. Nilgiri. We will continue our trek northward towards the arid Tibetan plateau which is guarded by tall silver peaks. One of the main highlights of the entire Annapurna circuit trekking is the crossing of Thorong La Pass at an elevation of 5,416m. From the top of the pass, we can have great views of the entire Annapurna range along with other beautiful peaks like Dhaulagiri, Gangapurna, Yak Gawa, and Thorungstse – which will make a memorable moment.

In addition to relishing in the magical mountains, the Annapurna Circuit Trekking also offers the unique chance to visit the most famous alpine regions of Nepal – Mustang and Manang. While in the beautiful Manang district, we will be able to visit several pristine ice lakes including the Tilicho Lake at 4,919m which is also known as the lake at the highest elevation. Another highlight is the Mustang district – the land beyond the Himalayas. The most trekked region in Nepal – and rightly so –the region strikes a perfect blend of natural beauty and spirituality. Here, we will visit the Muktinath Temple, situated in the driest terrains in the lap of Mt. Dhaulagiri and above Kali Gandaki Gorge, the deepest in the world.

After commencing the Annapurna circuit trekking from Dharapani, we will trek through the Gurung settlements of Dharapani, Chame, and Pisang to reach Manang. After exploration of Manang and proper acclimatization, we will cross the enthralling Thorong-La Pass to reach the Mustang district. Once again after Mustang’s exploration, we will trek down to Tirkhedhunga through Marpha, Lete, Tatopani, and Ghorepani. The trek ends at Ghorepani from where we will return back to Kathmandu via Pokhara.  Since it is a high-altitude trek, trekkers need to be in good physical health and preferably have previous trekking experiences. Upon returning to Kathmandu, we have a sightseeing day tour planned for you. We will visit some of the most exquisite and significant religious monuments of the Eastern civilization such as PashupatiNath, SwayambhuNath, Durbar Squares, and so on.

Annapurna Circuit Trek

We just completed a 16-day Annapurna Trek with Team Himalaya. We are a family of 4 and we all absolutely loved the adventure. The trek was just incredible. Challenging, especially the way to Throng La Pass, but absolutely worth it! The natural scenery is just stunning, nature is still the best. We learned a lot about flora and fauna, culture, and history of ethnic groups. The landscapes were amazing and everything was perfect, we didn’t have to worry about anything. Raj owner of Team Himalaya provides excellent service and he is always caring for the well-being of the clients. Very professional in his job and a reliable person. Our guide Kamal also took care of everything! He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. We had a brilliant and awe-inspiring time on this beautiful trek. Highly recommend Trek and Company for a family adventure.

Annapurna Circuit trekking

I spent a wonderful 18-day trekking with Ganesh on the Annapurna Circuit. My friend who was with me became ill but Ganesh arranged for him to be escorted back to Pokhara safely. At all times I had complete confidence in Ganesh and his knowledge of the area made the trip even more enjoyable.
I hope to come to Nepal again and when I do I'll go with Team Himalaya.

Annapurna Circuit Trekking on 2023

What a brilliant way to start the walks on Annapurna Circuit Trekking taking an exciting drive on bumpy mountain road. Very interesting journey, the walking trail was much better than we had expected, although with short ups and downs. The villages on the route were nice and beautiful adorned with Buddhist religious monuments of prayer walls and spinning wheels. Entering Manang Valley was amazing surrounded by the giant peaks of Annapurna and Chulu peaks and visiting the old Braga Monastery. It was interesting along with the views, the climb up to Thorang-La was quite challenging, but we made it. The walk around Kaligandaki was scenic in between Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayas while entering the gorge. The guide told us that Lete areas are listed as the world's deepest gorge of Kaligandaki River. We had a refreshing moment at Tatopani in a hot-warm pool and the climb to Ghorepani and Poon Hill was spectacular. Overlooking stunning sunrise views over the chain of Himalayan peaks, was one of my best adventures.
Thank you Team Himalaya and guide, including the cheerful strong porters.

Annapurna Circuit and Langtang with Ganesh as my guide

TONY CLARKE, KENT

8th Aug, 2022

I have been very lucky to have trekked both the Annapurna Circuit and Langtang with Ganesh as my guide and we have become good friends. He is always very careful to make sure you are healthy and well-fed every day whilst trekking and any problems or concerns you may have, he sorts out immediately.

I can’t wait to get back in the mountains trekking with him!

We did the Annapurna Circuit Throng La Pass Trek trek with Team Himalaya. Dawa was our guide on this trek and he was amazing and very knowledgeable. He also knew how to communicate effectively with the teahouse management staff. Having no worries about lodging, food, and transportation made the whole trip so much more comfortable! If you are looking for an agency that can help you plan your Trekking in Nepal, highly recommend Team Himalaya & Guide Dawa.

What a fantastic trip with a cultural tour around Kathmandu and relaxing at scenic Pokhara, after an enjoyable  Annapurna circuit short Trekking. The Annapurna circuit short trek was much better than we had expected, with good food and nice lovely lodges for overnight accommodations. It was hard to believe the mind-blowing scenery during the whole trek from the start to the end of the adventure.
