Ghandruk Circuit Trekking is located within the Annapurna region of Nepal and simply needs no introduction. With its magnificent Himalayan ranges, colossal glaciers, emerald alpine lakes, and spectacular green lush forest. It is one of the most sought-after trekking destinations worldwide. Thankfully, Ghandruk Circuit Trekking is also the most versatile trekking in the Annapurna region that offers trekkers options ranging from all kinds of difficulty levels.

If you are someone who wants to be in close vicinity of the inspiring mountains, want to marvel at the astounding natural beauty of the Annapurna region, but do not have the time or level of physical fitness to trek through highly off-beaten, and sometimes snow-laden routes, Ghandruk Circuit Trekking is the perfect choice for you. Ghandruk Circuit Trekking is suitable for Families, students, all ranges of Travelers, and all age groups, especially those looking for short Trekking in Nepal.

The 8-day Ghandruk circuit Trek commences with a sightseeing tour of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the Kathmandu valley. Once a prosperous medieval valley, Kathmandu is endowed with historical and cultural marvels that make the city the cultural capital of the nation as well. From Kathmandu, we will embark on a scenic 6-hour long bus ride to reach Pokhara, the Lake City of Nepal. At Pokhara, we can indulge in some laid-back activities like a visit to ancient caves and boating in serene Phewa Lake.

On the fourth day of your arrival, we will finally commence our trekking from Nayapul. From Nayapul, we will trek alongside the banks of the Choppy Modi River and trek through beautiful hamlets like Birethanti and Syali Bazaar. After trekking through winding hills and cobbled roads and passing the village of Kimche, we will reach Ghanduk village, one of the main focal points of the trek.

Ghandruk, which is known for its iconic Gurung civilization, is a rich cultural people who are also equally famous for the mind-blowing views of mountains like Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, and Himchuli. At Ghandruk, we will have the golden chance to experience the warm hospitality of the Gurung people, as we will stay in a traditionally built tea house and indulge in yummy Gurung cuisine. On the following day, we will descend through the dense alpine forests, stone steps, and along the banks of the Modi River once again to reach the small village of Landruk.

From there, as we trek down alongside terrace fields to reach Tolka, the distancing views of the western mountains will once again invigorate our energy. On the sixth day, we will trek down to a village called Kande and trek down to Pokhara. But first, we will on an hour-long uphill ascend to Deurali Hill, which once again offers fabulous views of mountain panorama including Dhaulagiri and Machhapuchhre. The trek journey comes to a full circle after we catch a bus to Pokhara from Kande village, where we can indulge in some much-deserved relaxation.

In this way, Ghandruk Circuit Trekking proves to be a wholesome trekking experience that offers you everything the Annapurna region has to offer, minus the hassle and hard work of trekking in harsh terrains for a stretched period of time. Sounds too good to be true, but the eight-day long trek incorporates some of the main highlights of trekking in the region, such as experiencing a home-stay in Ghandruk village and a trek to Kande for other-worldly views of several mountains including some eight thousand peaks.

FAQs

Will I get safe drinking water in the Annapurna Region?

Yes, you can refill your water bottle with boiled or purified water in the teahouses. It is better not to drink the water from the tap or the small streams as it might have negative effects on your health. So, to prevent that you should carry some purifying tablets with you.

How difficult is the Annapurna Region trekking?

The trek is moderate as there will be no climbing with ropes and all. Most of the trails such as Mardi Himal Trek and Annapurna Base Camp Trek involve long paths that might need you to go up and downs. So, it might be difficult for some people with back and ankle problems. But, with proper guidance and enough break times, almost anyone can complete the trek.

Is there a chance of getting altitude sickness during the trek?

The Poonhill trek’s elevation is 3,190 m while the elevation of Thorong-la pass is 5,416 m. Generally, people get the symptoms of altitude sickness once they pass the 3000m elevation. So, to avoid uncertain circumstances it is better to get a health checkup and get a doctor consultation before doing the Annapurna Region Trekking.

What kind of food will I get to have during the Trekking?

You might have heard of the typical term “Dal Bhat”, which is both fulfilling and healthy as well. Most of the foods you get are grown by local farmers. You might not have a lot of items on the Menus in the upper regions. You will get food items such as pasta, pancakes, bread, eggs, coffee, hot lemon, etc.

Can a solo woman traveler go on Annapurna Base Camp trek?

Traveling alone can sometimes be the best thing you can do for yourself. But, with our guide, you will be well taken care of during the trek. Our company keeps the safety of women travelers as the top priority.

Should I need a porter for my trek?

Well, it depends pretty much on what trek you choose. Some treks involve a lot of difficult paths and routes so, it will be hard for you to carry heavy bags on your own. Hiring a porter can be beneficial as you can fully enjoy the trek without having a backache.

Will I be able to use my phone during the trek?

The mobile phone signal has reached most of the Annapurna Region. So, in case you miss someone from your home you can quickly check upon them. There are also many phone services like charging and recharge cards in almost every part of the Annapurna Region if you need them.

Is there the facility of ATM on the trekking?

Unfortunately, there aren’t such facilities for ATMs. So, you need to use the service before and after the trekking at Pokhara.

What if I get sick or injured during the trek?

Firstly, our guides will sort out the things for you. However, if there is an emergency then the evacuation through helicopter can be done. For this reason, travel insurance is really important for you as it will help to cover the fees for the helicopter rescue.

What if I left the gears at my home?

You can easily get gears at Kathmandu. You can also rent the required gears easily so; you should not be worried much about forgetting the gears.

What kind of Guides will I get?

The guides you will be getting are all Nepalese. Each of our guides is experienced, knowledgeable, flexible, and licensed. They are all highly experienced professionals and know how to care for our valuable guests.

What kind of accommodation will I get during my trek?

You will be resting in tea houses and lodges. These hotels and lodges are small but comfortable. You will get pillows, sheets, and mattresses but in case you need spare blankets, you can ask for them. Bringing your pillow would be a great idea though. And some of you might not be comfortable to sleep without a hot shower. For that, you can get a hot shower at a certain cost.
