An ideal, fascinating Pokhara-Chitwan tour.
Visiting historic World Heritage temples, monasteries, and palaces.
Visit Asia’s number one national park at Chitwan, enriched with flora/fauna.
Visit the scenic Pokhara Valley with an amazing panorama of the Annapurna Himalayas.
While in Pokhara, the Lake City of Nepal, you can boat in the serene lakes like Phewa, Rupa, and Begnas that borrow a deep emerald colour from the surrounding lush forests. At night, you can take a good night’s rest at several luxury hotels clustered around the lakeside areas. Other than that, you can relish the views of beautiful western mountains and indulge in over half a dozen adventure sports.
Similarly, if your thirst for nature isn’t satiated, Chitwan is the right place for you. The jungles of Chitwan National Park wait for you with a wildlife experience like no other. Be it tracking the one-horned rhinos and the royal Bengal tiger in their habitat, playing with elephant calves, or going on a jungle safari on an Asiatic elephant’s back, Chitwan National Park offers you all. At night, you can unwind the day’s tiredness by watching a spectacular cultural show put together by the region’s indigenous people – the Tharus.
Itinerary of Pokhara Chitwan Tour - 8 days
Upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport, you will be met by Team Himalaya staff and then transferred to your respective hotels, where the TH guide will provide an orientation to the program and related information. We then tour the suburbs of Kathmandu city to Swayambhunath, popularly known as ‘Monkey Temple’. This is one of the world’s most Buddhist Chaityas. It’s said to be 2,000 years old. Paintings on the four sides of the spire depict the all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. It is 3 km west of Kathmandu and is on a hillock about 77m high. The Kathmandu Valley is listed as a World Heritage Site. From here, one can see the whole of Kathmandu city and its valley, with a distant snow-capped mountain range in the background on a clear day.
Max. Elevation:1300 M
Duration:30 Mins
Today, after breakfast, our tour continues with a drive to Pashupatinath Temple, one of the holiest Hindu temples. Situated 5 km east of Kathmandu, the temple of Lord Shiva-Pashupatinath, with a two-tiered golden roof and silver doors, is famous for its superb architecture. Visitors can see the temple and the activities on its premises from the eastern bank of the Bagmati River. Apart from Hindus, no one is allowed to enter the main Temple premises; however, we take a short walk along the banks of the Bagmati River, where one can observe pilgrims and Hindu priests at work. This River is also a cremation site for the Hindus. A short drive led to Bouddhanath, northeast of Pashupatinath. The Bouddhanath Stupa is located 8 km east of Kathmandu. This ancient stupa is among the largest in the world. This area is also known as ‘Little Tibet’. After a visit here, I observed the Tibetan Buddhist way of life. Our tour continues towards Patan Durbar Square, situated south of Kathmandu and separated from Kathmandu by a bridge over the Bagmati River. Patan is also known as Lalitpur, meaning the City of Arts. As you enter the old Palace courtyard (Durbar), the tall terracotta house looks fascinating, with intricate window carvings, and the Stone Temple of Krishna, with pillars of Garuda, the vehicle of Lord Vishnu, and of Lord Krishna. After the historic visit with lunch in the Patan area, drive back to the hotel.

Starting from Kathmandu, we take a nearly five-hour drive on the main south-west central highway. The scenic drive passes through the Kathmandu Valley and then follows the Trisuli River for most of the way south. Upon reaching Chitwan, we meet the Lodge staff and travel by four-wheel drive or on an elephant to the Jungle Lodge through the park entrance. On arrival, you are met and welcomed by the senior naturalist or manager, who provides brief information. Nepal’s tropical, dense jungles are in the lowlands of the Terai, which runs east to west in this fertile country. These exotic jungles provide a home and habitat for the most endangered wildlife species: the Royal Bengal Tiger, the horned Rhinoceros, the Gharial crocodile, and freshwater Dolphins. In one of these jungles, you will find one of the most exciting safari destinations in the world. Safari on the back of elephants or in a four-wheel drive to view the diverse wildlife and many different species of exotic birds. Other thrills include canoe rides, jungle walks, and birdwatching excursions from the comfort of the cosy lodge, built from local materials that blend well with the natural surroundings, and featuring all the homely facilities.

Machhapuchhre ‘The Fish Tail’. The drive lasted for about 4 hours on the western highway. On reaching Pokhara, we check into a room near the Phewa Lake. We head for an afternoon walk on the lakeside, where there are many shops and restaurants.
Max. Elevation:920 M

After breakfast, we head out for a short drive to the end of Pokhara for a grand view of Davis Falls, depending on the season. In the dry season, the water level might be quite low, but in late summer and during the monsoon, the view of the torrential waterfall here is truly wonderful. From here, the drive leads to Pokhara's hub, the local bazaar. Close by, view the Seti River Gorge, a narrow, deep gorge below the bridge. A short drive to the Bindabasani Temple area, where locals come to visit and offer prayers to various Hindu gods and goddesses. This place also offers a grand view of the Annapurna Himalayan range. From here, another short visit to the Tibetan Refugee camp, which has an almost identical setup to the Patan area, with carpet and other handicraft industries.

We had a very successful EBC trek in October 2024 because of Team Himalaya! Our guide, Raj, was very knowledgeable in all things Everest. He set us up in the best lodges where we had great service all along. He provided us with a superb porter, who also went above and beyond in taking care of us. Raj was very patient with us and was always looking out for our best interests. We would highly recommend Team Himalaya for any trek!

Everest Base Camp Team Himalaya March 2024
We have just returned from a 14 day, 11 day hike with Raj and Durga from Team Himalaya to Everest Base Camp. From the minute we landed to our departure we were properly looked after and cared for by Team Himalaya. The trek to and from Everest Base Camp was wonderful, our guides and porters really looked after us and were incredibly knowledgeable. In Nepal things can go wrong especially with flights to and from Lukla but Team responded magnificently and found alternative solutions. If this is on your bucket list as ours and you are looking for a company to organise this with I would 100% recommend Raj.

Reaching Everest Base Camp with TEAM HIMALAYA
If you are looking for an adventure of a lifetime, don’t hesitate! Choose TEAM HIMALAYA for your Everest Base Camp trek! We completed the EBC trek early November 2023 . My husband and I chose to do a private trek with Team Himalaya. Everything went smoothly with our guide Raj. His team and organization is outstanding! We could not have done it without him. Raj took care of everything throughout the trek and made sure we were well at all times, even providing us fresh fruits every night after dinner! We felt safe at all times , his experience and knowledge of the Himalayas helped us achieve our goal in reaching the EBC! His professionalism went beyond our expectations from our first contact with him for information until the very end. We will forever remember this expedition and gained a friend in our guide Raj!

Incredible Experience by evan
It was an incredible experience being surrounded by the towering Annapurna Himalayas. This memorable trek through Nepal offered the best scenic views and stunning landscapes. Despite being surprised at how quickly the trek ended, the daily walks were filled with dramatic views that left a lasting impression.
I highly recommend this adventure, as it is one of the best base camp treks in the Himalayas with minimal risk of altitude sickness. Although there were steep ups and downs that were tiring on some days, the breathtaking views made it all worth it. This was easily the most exciting trek I have ever experienced.
I want to thank Team Himalayas and Raj for providing exceptional service with their expert guide and staff.
