Lobuche Peak Climbing is among the most adventurous pursuits in Nepal's Khumbu. Lobuche Peak lies right on top of the Lobuche Village, and thus calls out to adventurous souls to conquer the summit and achieve one of their greatest successes. There are two separate summits of the Lobuche Peak: Lobuche East Peak (6,119m) and Lobuche West Peak (6,145m). The ridge that joins these two summits together runs continuously. Lobuche East Peak was first conquered by Ang Ang Gyalzen Sherpa and Laurence Neilson back in 1984. Summiting the peak is achieved through the South Ridge. It is adventurous. But there are views of the majestic peaks of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Pumori, and other small peaks in the Everest region, which make summiting the peak truly adventurous and unforgettable. For this reason, the climbers feel blessed with the views provided by the majestic peaks. Climbers need permits for climbing this peak.

Overview
Lobuche Peak Climbing is one of the adventurous expeditions of Nepal. It is located just above Lobuche Village, challenging all those adventurous souls who would like to conquer it and achieve the greatest achievement of their lives. There are two summits on the Lobuche Peak that include Lobuche East (6,119m) and Lobuche West (6,145m). These summits are connected through the continuous ridge. Lobuche East Peak was first climbed in 1984 by Ang Ang Gyalzen Sherpa and Laurence Neilson. This summit can be approached through the south ridge of the peak. It is adventurous; however, the view that the summiteers will get is definitely the best of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Pumori, and many others. For this, they feel blessed by the presence of the holy giant peaks. The excitement level in this journey will be marvellous. For climbing the peak, a climbing permit is essential for Lobuche East Peak, whereas an expedition permit is essential for Lobuche West Peak.
We start our adventurous Lobuche Peak Climbing trip with a short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. This flight will take us around thirty-five minutes from Kathmandu. Further, we follow the same route as the Everest Base Camp Trek, via Phakding, Namche, and Tengboche, until Lobuche. On this tour, we visit Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and learn about the flora and fauna there. Upon reaching Lobuche village, we head towards the summit and conquer it with a professional climbing team. This summit will be breathtakingly beautiful. Further, we descend to Lukla along the same way and fly to Kathmandu.

We had a very successful EBC trek in October 2024 because of Team Himalaya! Our guide, Raj, was very knowledgeable in all things Everest. He set us up in the best lodges where we had great service all along. He provided us with a superb porter, who also went above and beyond in taking care of us. Raj was very patient with us and was always looking out for our best interests. We would highly recommend Team Himalaya for any trek!

Everest Base Camp Team Himalaya March 2024
We have just returned from a 14 day, 11 day hike with Raj and Durga from Team Himalaya to Everest Base Camp. From the minute we landed to our departure we were properly looked after and cared for by Team Himalaya. The trek to and from Everest Base Camp was wonderful, our guides and porters really looked after us and were incredibly knowledgeable. In Nepal things can go wrong especially with flights to and from Lukla but Team responded magnificently and found alternative solutions. If this is on your bucket list as ours and you are looking for a company to organise this with I would 100% recommend Raj.

Incredible Experience by evan
It was an incredible experience being surrounded by the towering Annapurna Himalayas. This memorable trek through Nepal offered the best scenic views and stunning landscapes. Despite being surprised at how quickly the trek ended, the daily walks were filled with dramatic views that left a lasting impression.
I highly recommend this adventure, as it is one of the best base camp treks in the Himalayas with minimal risk of altitude sickness. Although there were steep ups and downs that were tiring on some days, the breathtaking views made it all worth it. This was easily the most exciting trek I have ever experienced.
I want to thank Team Himalayas and Raj for providing exceptional service with their expert guide and staff.
Frequently Asked Questions About the Lobuche Peak Climbing
Can I climb a Peak?
A fit person with little or no climbing experience can attempt a non-technical climb. For the technical climb, one needs to be fit and trained, or have prior experience climbing peaks. The difficulty of the climb varies from mountain to mountain.
What are the peak climbing trips you provide?
Currently, we provide the Island, Mera, and Lobuche Peak Climb.
Do I need travel Insurance?
Travel insurance is really important for peak climbing. We recommend that you ensure you have adequate travel insurance in your country. This insurance will help to cover your uncertain medical expenses or helicopter evacuation fees.
What is the best time for mountaineering?
The spring and autumn seasons are the best times for mountaineering activities in Nepal. This includes the August-November and March-May periods.
Who will be my guide for this adventure?
Experienced, well-trained, and licensed Sherpa guides will lead throughout the trek and climb.
Do I need a climbing permit?
You are required to get a permit from the Nepal Mountaineering Association. They will issue the legal document, and then you will be all set for the expedition.
What are the provisions for food and accommodation?
Your accommodation will be in small hotels and tea houses until the base camp. Once your climb commences from the base camp, all your climbing gear and food will be carried by the porters. A spacious tent will be assigned to you, and Sherpas will feed you warm, high-altitude food during the climb.
What should I do about drinking water?
Your major source of drinking water is bottled water. Apart from that, purified, filtered, and boiled water is available in the teahouses and lodges.
What are the problems that may arise at altitude?
The oxygen level is low, so many climbers struggle to breathe and are at risk of AMS. Apart from that, your skin can get sunburned if you don’t apply sunblock or wear protective clothing.
How much time is required to reach the summit?
It depends on the peak that you choose and also the weather. Generally, it requires one or two days to summit the peak. Other factors, such as peak elevation and location, may also affect the time to reach the summit.
I have never seen a mountain before. Can I climb it?
There is always a first time for everything, and climbing a mountain can be one of the best things to try for the first time. There are various non-technical peaks that novice climbers can attempt. Our guides will lead you and, if necessary, train you to reach the summit.
How difficult is the mountain expedition?
The uncertain weather and the mountainous terrain make the climb difficult. This means some peaks require high technical skills, whereas others require none.
What kind of meals will be there?
In teahouses and lodges, you will find a variety of dishes, including soups and continental dishes. In remote regions, Nepali Dal Bhat and noodle soups are available. And on the base camps and during the summit, a Sherpa guide will prepare dry meals for you.
What is the cost of peak climbing?
The cost depends solely on which peak you wish to climb and how many fellow climbers you have in your group. The total price will include trekking, transportation, permits, and guide fees. For more information, contact us.
What kind of boots should I pack?
For a comfortable journey, shoes with thick soles will help you a lot. Given the many rocky, steep trails, getting a pair of specific trekking shoes would be a wise idea. However, on snow routes, you will need crampons, an ice ax, and another climbing harness.
Is there a way to communicate during the trip?
Most popular trails have local VHF Phones, but in remote, isolated regions, communication is limited or unavailable. So, in these cases, a satellite phone is required for communication.
