Starting very early before the break of dawn to catch the sunrise from Nagarkot after an hour's drive, continues leaving the suburb of Bhaktapur area and heading to Nagarkot Hill, located 30 km east of Kathmandu on the valley rim. Nagarkot is a favorite weekend getaway for those who seek Himalayan Scenery and rural serenity. On reaching Nagarkot, witness the stunning sunrise view over the chain of mountains that extend from Dhaulagiri in the west. 
Mt. Everest to Kanchenjunga in the east. The surrounding countryside around Nagarkot is excellent for walking, standing at 2,175 meters and offering a fabulous panorama of the Himalayan range.

Nagarkot, surrounded by terraced hillsides and picturesque farmhouses, is an ideal place to relax and marvel at the views.
After an impressive and fantastic time marveling at the mountain views start hiking after breakfast for a few hours walking down from Nagarkot along a ridge to the temple of Changu Narayan with views of Sankhu village to the right and Bhaktapur to the left, walk leads to descent at Telkot with mix tribe of Newar, Tamang, and Hindu people and then into the forest of pines and oaks tree lines and then after 2-3 hours of enjoyable hike reaching Changu Narayan village area, a mystical medieval type small village of Newari people, walk onto the steps to ancient temple of Changu Narayan, located on a high hilltop also known as Changu or Dolagiri. The temple is surrounded by a forest of champak trees and a small village known as Changu Village. The temple Changunarayan is about 14 km east of Kathmandu and just 3-4 km north of Bhaktapur. 
The Manahara River flows beside the hill. This shrine is dedicated to Lord Visnu and is held in special reverence by Hindus. This temple is considered the oldest temple in Nepal.  The pagoda-style temple has several masterpieces of 5th and 12th-century Nepalese art.

After a grand and interesting time here, time permitting, either having lunch here or driving to Kathmandu. This exciting and enjoyable day tour with Team Himalaya concludes upon returning to the respective hotels.
